The AD Music label was originally formed in the early 90’s to issue albums by UK ‘Electronic Music’ artist David Wright. In 1995, ADML, as it is now officially known, was incorporated with another private label run by UK synth composer Robert Fox. Since then it has grown and matured into a respected International label that has flourished by following its own path, not current trends. ADML has 11 solo artists and bands under contract, from the UK, USA, Romania and Israel, and if you enjoy Ambient, Electronic, Chill Out, New Age, Soundtrack or World Music, then you will find what these musicians have to offer is nothing short of sensational, offering a varied and unique range of musical worlds full of melody, soul and rhythmic motion. Thanks to a deal with UK company: Notting Hill Music Publishing, ADML artists have received exposure on a world-wide level, not only within the mainstream music business, but also in film scoring, advertising and library music. Their music is used in the business worlds of: Centre Parks, The Gap, Wax Lyrical, London Planetarium, Ivor Williams, British Airways, Sky Sport, European Ferries and some ADML tracks have been licensed to major labels like Sony and Polygram. The musical territory in which ADML operate is described by the company as 'Electronic, Experimental and Esoteric', which perhaps also indicates just how difficult it is to pigeonhole. Much of, although not all the ADML catalogue, follows in the tradition of ‘European Electronic Music’, a style typified by such early exponents such as Tangerine Dream, Cluster, Vangelis and many others, but it is more a case of building on these influences, rather than emulating their past triumphs. They eventually decided to create their own pigeonhole - Thus out of a random conversation, the idea of 'Evolutionary Ambient' was born. Don't take that too seriously however, it is also the company's intention to present music that crosses over into other musical territories, such as ‘Ambient’ and ‘Dance’. Good examples of these variants are the Code Indigo, Jan Hanford and Witchcraft albums and the more recent ‘Trance AD’ Remixes album, which hard core ‘EM’ fans might see as ADML’s most radical departure from the established scene to date, but we at CD Services don’t – this music is as much part of real ‘Electronic Music’ as anything else! The genre in which ADML operate is often criticized as being “male-dominated”, so they are always pleased to point out that their artist roster includes two highly talented female composer/musicians in: Jan Hanford from Philadelphia in the USA, and Bekki Williams from Derbyshire in the U.K.
